ePlus was proud to attend The Wheel Summit 2026, Ireland’s premier gathering for charities, community organisations, and social enterprises, held at The Helix, DCU, Dublin.

Representing ePlus at this year’s summit was Frank Browne, Head of Services, who joined sector leaders, policymakers, advocates, and community organisations from across Ireland for a day focused on collaboration, innovation, and strengthening civil society.

Hosted by The Wheel, the 2026 Summit centred on the theme “Community at the Heart of Our Democracy”, highlighting the critical role community and voluntary organisations play in supporting inclusion, participation, wellbeing, and social progress throughout Ireland and across Europe.

A key highlight of the event was the address delivered by Minister Jerry Buttimer T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, who spoke about the Government’s commitment to supporting the community and voluntary sector ahead of the launch of Ireland’s new five-year national strategy for the sector.

Frank Browne had the opportunity to meet with Minister Buttimer at the event.  Discussions at the event focused on the importance of community-led services, early intervention supports, and strengthening partnerships that positively impact children, young people, and families nationwide.

Speaking following the summit, Frank Browne said:

“The Wheel Summit 2026 was an incredibly important and inspiring event for everyone working within the community and voluntary sector. It was encouraging to hear strong recognition from Government and sector leaders about the vital work organisations are doing every day in communities across Ireland.

At ePlus, we see first-hand the difference that early support, community engagement, and collaborative partnerships can make in people’s lives. Events like this provide an important opportunity to learn, connect, and continue building stronger services for the individuals and families we support.”

The summit featured contributions from national and European leaders, community advocates, lived-experience speakers, and nonprofit innovators, alongside practical workshops and networking opportunities designed to strengthen the future of Ireland’s community sector.

ePlus remains committed to working collaboratively with Government, communities, and sector partners to create positive, sustainable outcomes for children, young people, and families throughout Ireland.
