"From nature walks, magnet fishing, arcades, lake fishing, bowling, cinemas, hikes, playgrounds, tennis, basketball, soccer, and much more — this was a lovely closing piece from a year-long journey. For a final session, to hear a young person only talk about all of the things we’ve done and the good times we’ve shared over the past year was the reward in itself. To hear the words, 'I can’t wait to teach my own kids how to do this when I’m older,' goes to show the long-lasting impact we have on the kids we work with. When signing our names, he said, 'I want my name right beside yours.' He did most of the work himself and will have something to remember all of the good times every time he looks at his walking stick — which we created together. It was a pleasure."
